The villages of the central highlands of Madagascar have two churches, one of them is Roman Catholic Church and the other is Protestant church.

Betsileo and Merina are the two main ethnic groups in Madagascar. The Betsileo people are the supporters of the Roman Catholicism whereas the Merina people are the supporters of the Protestantism.

People in Madagascar do not worship a religion they worship the creator god Zanahary or Andriamanitra. Zanahary is part of their indigenous religion. Approximately 50% of Malagasy are Christian. However the Malagasy religion and Christianity have now become combined; both are intertwined. Also, about 7% of Madagascar are Muslim. More recently, Indians have introduced Hinduism to the Malagasy.
