There are many seas that surround Europe. The Mediterranean Sea is to the south of Europe. To the west and North are the peripheral seas which are really just extensions of the Atlantic Ocean. Seas like the North Sea, the English Channel, the Kattegat, the Skagerak, the Baltic Sea, the Gulf of Bothnia are some examples. The Mediterranean Sea also has some peripheral seas like the Adriatic Sea, the Ionian Sea, the Tyrrhenian Sea and the Ligurian Sea. See the map in the Related Links below.
