DNA molecules are composed of repeating subunits called nucleotides. A nucleotide is made of three parts: a nucleobase, a certain type of sugar (deoxyribose in the case of DNA nucleotides), and one or more phosphate groups.
There are four different nucleobases found in DNA: adenine, cytosine, guanine, and thymine.
In terms of elements, the sugar contains carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen, the phosphate contains oxygen and phosphorus, and the nucelobase is carbon, hydrogen, oxygen and nitrogen.
DNA is made up of nucleotides.
Nucleotides consist of three things:
Both the phosphate group and the deoxyribose form the backbone of DNA. This forms the famous helix shape.
The organic base is in the middle of the double helix. It bonds with another organic base which is part of another nucleotide so that this forms the other backbone, creating the doublehelix.
This includes a little extra so I covered everything I thought you might want to know. I could go into reams of detail but I don't think that would be needed!
Hope this helps.
DNA= deoxyribose nucleic acid DNA is made up of substructures known as nucleotides. Nucleotides are made up of deoxyribose sugar molecules, phosphate groups and nitrogeneous bases. Nitrogen bases are made up of guanine which bonds with cytosine and thymine which bonds with adenine.
Each nucleotide in a DNA molecule contains: A 5 carbon sugar (deoxyribose), an organic base(adenine, guanine, thymine or cytosine) and a phosphate group. A DNA molecule is made of 2 long chains of nucleotide molecules linked together to form a twisted ladder (a double helix).
Disney's "Beauty and the Beast," nominated for a Best Picture Academy Award, is one of the most beloved films of the late 20th century. One of the reasons people embrace it so readily is that its heroine, Belle, is so endearing. Not only is she beautiful, she has a fierce independent spirit coupled with deep loyalty to those she loves. Moreover, she is an intellectual who loves books, making her a good role model for reluctant readers. No wonder Belle costumes are so popular at Halloween.
The movie presents two iconic costumes for Belle. The first is a simple blue jumper with a white shirt behind it. For children and adults who are more attracted to Belle as the oddball peasant who turns heads with her unusual habits, this is the design that will probably have more appeal. It's a simpler dress, and it's meant to be utilitarian so there's not as much concern about getting it dirty or damaging it in another way. Aside from the white portion, which is mostly limited to the sleeves, this outfit is dark enough that dirt won't show up on it very easily. What's more, it's unobtrusive enough that it could even be worn as a normal dress in certain circumstances. If you choose this version of the costume, you may also want to carry a basket or a book or both in order to reflect the opening sequence in which the dress features prominently.
The other dress is a frilly yellow ball gown that is much more typical of a Disney princess dress. This is the dress that Belle wears on her date with the Beast toward the end of the movie. It is probably more readily associated with her because she wears it during the title song when she dances with the Beast. The dress is elegant and ruffled, with hues ranging from bright yellow to deep gold. Design varies from costume to costume, but the chief consideration with this dress is elegance. Belle truly looks like a princess.
Whether princess or peasant, a Belle costume is a fine choice for Halloween or any other occasion that may require dressing up.
nucleotides, and every nucleotide has three components: a phosphate group, a protein, and a simple sugar. Every nucleotide consisting of three components belongs to a single codon.
