There are actually sixteen countries which switched their currency to the Euro. These sixteen countries are: The Republic of Austria; The Kingdom of Belgium; The Republic of Cyprus; The Republic of Finland; The French Republic; The Federal Republic of Germany; The Hellenic Republic (commonly known as Greece); The Republic of Ireland; The Italian Republic; The Grand Duchy of Luxembourg; The Republic of Malta; The Kingdom of the Netherlands; The Portuguese Republic; The Slovak Republic; The Republic of Slovenia; and The Kingdom of Spain. These are not all the countries in the European Union; these are only the countries that currently use the Euro as their currency. I hope this helped.

As of the 1st January 2011 there are actually 17 countries of the 27 countries in the European Union which have switched their currency to Euro. These 17 countries are: Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Malta, The Netherlands, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia and Spain.
Martinique is a Department of France, therefore, its currency before the Euro would have been the French franc. Martinique switched to the Euro in 2002, when France did.
