GSK, also known as Glaxo, Smith, Kline, a global pharmaceutical company states simply in their mission statement: "Our mission is to improve the quality of human life by enabling people to do more, feel better and live longer."

GSK are actively involved in on-going research to develop new medicines to enhance the quality of life. Their R&D (research & development) is among the largest in the world and they remain a leader in vaccine programmes, particularly in areas of life-threatening illnesses such as hepatitis A, hepatitis B, diphtheria, tetanus, and more.

GSK are also involved in comprehensive HIV/AIDS vaccination schemes as well as other STD (sexually transmitted disease) infections.

And during the past 165 years, GSK has been involved in dermatology and over-the-counter skin-care products.
