Throughout human history, the advantages of agriculture for social development have been many in number. As just one example, compare an agricultural society to a nomadic society: nomadic peoples must travel place to place in search of food; thus, they cannot enjoy the stability that enables civilization to grow, and they also face the great challenge of continually searching for their meals. By contrast, agricultural societies enjoy great stability and have a fundamentally stable food-source on which to rely.
