Can you leave dfcs at age 17 in Georgia?

from experience, I know that the only way you can legally leve dfcs at 17 is to be emancipated in a court setting. Otherwise, if you leave, you will be posted as a missing person and dfcs legally still has custody until you are 18...then you can sign yourself out. If you are under 17, you will be reported as a runaway, and can be sent to Juvi for it.

When your falsely accused of child neglect and what to do?

My wife and I have been fighting false alligations by a ex for two and one half years. He called dfcs and told them we had a meth lab. Dfcs showed up with our local drug task force. The ex then tried to kill the both of us after a court hearing. My best advise is to find a good atty and make him sign a contract as to the cost and make him give you a break down of anything filed by him. Also the times he has done anything on your case. Dfcs are the most unethical and lieingest people I have ever delt with in my 46 yrs.

my child was born abroad in Bogota, Colombia in 2004. Now,i want to resgister her in the state of Pennsylvania. How do i go about that?

When you are 17 and in dfcs custody can you get put into a judges custody when you turn 18 or will you go to jail?

No matter what state you live in, the judge who heard your case has continuing jurisdiction over your case. When you turn 18 years old, the judge will decide, depending on your progress with DFCS, whether your custody arrangement will continue or will be changed. Some states have half-way houses for juveniles over 18; some states may allow you to continue with DFSC until your time is finished.
