Coal is a fossil fuel like oil and gas. Fossil fuels are all formed out of organic matter deposited, decomposed and compressed, storing all the carbon involved under the earth's surface for millions of years.
Some of the advantages of coal are -
However, the important issue as of now is whether there are more advantages than disadvantages of fossil fuels like coal!
Some disadvantages of coal are that -
Some people have said that coal power is good, because coal power is reliable and affordable. It may be reliable and affordable, but in the future the damage that coal power would cause, would be much more expressive.
Coal is cheap and abundant, with an estimate of over 300 years supply of economic coal deposits still accessible, which is why we are still using so much of it, despite the high levels of pollution and greenhouse gas emissions it produces.
Pros: It's cheap.
Cons: It produces raidoactive waste that takes thousands of years to decay.
The waste is the issue.
It generates electricity and it is too dangerous. We cannot depend on nuclear power.
1. Increased electrical generating capacity provides for more complex weapons, environmental, navigation and control systems. 2. A little known fact is that all nuclear powered vessels can redirect their electrical generating capacity to power cities or towns that have lost their electrical power during a disaster.
Nuclear power plants produce electricity by using nuclear energy
You probably mean France
Yes. Currently, there are five nuclear power plants operating commercially in Pennsylvania to produce electricity. The use of power in a state is not restricted to power from generating plants within that state, so there is probably power from nuclear plants outside Pennsylvania being used there, and there is probably electricity generated in Pennsylvania that is used outside that state. But certainly, most of the electricity generated by the plants in Pennsylvania is used there.
I'm not in the business of writing such leaflets, but you can get a lot of info from this website: www.world-nuclear.org
Using nuclear fission, generators are turned.
The only way of using nuclear power is through generating electricity, so if the robot uses electricity it could be supplied from a nuclear power source. However if the robot is going to be mobile, it is unlikely it could carry its own nuclear reactor plant, not unless it is made very large, and I would not think an operating licence could be obtained for such an arrangement in any case, as the safety aspects would be difficult to assess.
It is not bad to generate electricity using nuclear power. However, there are concerns some people have with nuclear power, in particular with the side effects of it. In the process of generating electricity nuclear fuel is used up and left as what is called nuclear waste. This waste is very radioactive and a danger to living things for upwards of 10000 years. This waste must be stored, and debates about where and how it should be stored can lead people to consider nuclear power to be a "bad" method of generating electricity.
kills power
It is the way of using for example a river or a water fall for generating electricity. Using a water wheel is a way of hydro electric power.
