Acoustic Guitars are good if you like to play without being plugged in inside a building somewhere there are some songs that just sound better out of an acoustic guitar, not to mention most girls dig acoustic The bulky size of an acoustic is not always a good thing but u can always get thin acoustics like an ovation. =========== Acoustic is great for songwriting, because it doesn't require much equipment. The act of setting up an Electric Guitar -- cables, amps, needing electricity -- can hinder the creative process. And you can bring an acoustic guitar anywhere, power or no power. Acoustic guitars have a limited emotional range, though. Electric guitars can sound full and textured even when you play just one or two strings. And when you play an acoustic guitar, everything you play will have some folk flavour or other, but electrics are much more versatile.
The pro's are that they are light and have a great feel but the cons are they have crappy fender single coils and crappy bridges. if you want a good tele get the Jim Root signature. It has high output EMG actives and a better bridge. = Answer = pound for pound a good telecaster is a very reliable guitar.

it is an early (one of the first!) design for electrics so it doesnt have any gadgets - a simple reliable "classic" instrument for those who blues at heart.
like any guitar quality depends on where their from, but I'm yet to find a perfect guitar right out of a store from a big company. All Gibson or any other brand is just like a name sprayed on the top.. but heres to answer your question.
pros
easily recognizable
their everywhere so finding and buying them is very easy
good quality and reliable most will say, always try before you buy
cons
price is a big con as you can get much better guitars for fractions of the cost.
you cant solo as much as a BC Rich , Ibanez or any bigger neck guitar
everyone has them! so not very original
be sure to check out other brands if you're thinking of buying your first guitar, brands nothing , whats in it and down to what pedals and tuning is more important.
Pro's: Very easy to learn, fun instrument to play on.
Cons: You're very limited to what you can play, compared to say a guitar. You'll find it becomes rather boring once you've mastered the techniques.
