Pros--it is the right thing to do; the words "under God" are an establishment of religion, forbidden by the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution
Cons-- Religious conservatives will protest, as it tinkers with a tradition and it probably would offend those who feel that it is government's job to do God's will.
The challenge has (sort of ) been rejected already by our conservative Supreme Court.

∙ 14y agoThe big con is that it dissolves the essential separation of church and state so vital to the growth and prosperity of our nation. It undermines the notion of equality and justice for all. It is a pathetic pander to quasi religious fundamentalists and erodes respect for the great institutions of our nation.
