Best Answer

Accountability, competition, diversity, and health are "pros" in banning genetically modified foods.

Specifically, genetically modified foods are appearing on shelves even though their ingredients and procedures tend not to be completely identified and itemized. They come from large producers who can afford the genetic inputs and thereby make it so that domestic, local and small cultivators are disadvantaged in the marketplace. They may threaten diversity by their seeds cross-pollinating with and dominating over plants that are not genetically modified. They tend to be regarded with suspicion regarding their impact on the environment's, people's, and wildlife's well-being since their impact is neither known nor researched and their incorporation into lab animal diets is replete with incidences of tumors.
