To minimize cancerous growths. Division can get screwed up (oncogenes/proto-oncogenes) and you want to minimize the risk. This means that neurons do not cause cancer. Glial Cells (neuronal support cells) can cause cancer however because they retain the ability to divide.

Factors that contribute inaccuracy in experiment?

An experiment can go wrong for many reason. The number one reason can simply be due to human error. Other factors could be the design of the experiment, a spill done in the experiment, or a miss calculation.

What condition is neuron in when the outside of the neuron has a net positive charge and the inside has net negative charge?

This is called the resting potential (inactive state) of the neuron. However, when a neurotransmitter binds to receptors, electrical stimulus is applied, etc. to induce an opening of ion channels in the membrane of the neuron, positive ions rush into the neuron from the outside to the inside, and result in a sharp increase of the positive charge density (due to more positive ions) inside the neuron. Beyond a certain threshold, this can induce the creation of an action potential, causing the neuron to fire. After the action potential is created, and the neuron fires, there is a short refractory period where the neuron cannot be fired again due to stimuli, when positive ions are pumped back out of the neuron, negative ions are brought into the neuron, and then the ion channels close, leaving the neuron in a polarized state, and returning it to a resting potential.

What does it mean when a girl drips urine for no reason?

This is either due to factors related to mental reaction to situations or weakness in tissues that normally control leakage.

Circle the letter of the choice that describes an action potential?

a. Reversal of charges due to the flow of positive ions into a neuron

How do you Calculate G forces with only Acceleration given?

You divide the given acceleration by the standard acceleration due to Earth's gravity. Find the animal that migrates due to seasonal factors?

There are hundreds of thousands of such animals. Ay animal migration is likely to be due to seasonal factors.

Period during which potassium ions diffuse out of the neuron due to a change in membrane permeability?

Membrane potential - a nerve cell set and ready to fire;"The wave of reverse polarity" i.e. sodium versus potassium trans-cell-membrane ion passaging - a nerve cell firing; andRecharge period - the regeneration time.

What are the factors for the slow development of Philippine nationalism?

Philippine Nationalism was a period of history from the 1820's to the 1860's. The main reason the development of this movement was delayed was due to political strife in the country during that time.

Why do poor countries have weak economies?

The main reason for this is linked to wealth, the wealthier the country the stronger its economy. Poor countries have weaker economies due factors such as avalibility of resources, climate, literacy rates etc.

Which of these factors varies due to effects of the factors being tested in a controlled?

What does the neuron do?

Neural activitity makes your brain work, and allows sensations, thoughts, and decisions. The neuron "fires" an electrical signal, due to chemical stimulation from other neurons, which releases chemicals (neurotransmitters) to repeat the process for other neurons. It is part of a chain reaction within a neural network.
