Mi'kmaq used Natural Resources in order to survive, including but not limited to: Plants and Herbs - for healing, decoration, and to create dye Wood - Different types of wood would be used for different projects. Birch bard (more pliable) would be used on canoes and baskets. Fishing rods would be made of wood, spears, weapons, and also furniture of wood. Animals - After a hunt, Mi'kmaq will use the meat of the animal for food, the hide for leather, and the fur to add warmth and decoration to clothing. Feathers would also be used as decorative pieces to clothing and hair. Pebbles & Stones- Used for games.
