The dangers of tie dying include dying your skin (not permanently staining other clothes in the washing machine, and your shirt no turning out the way it should. There's really no real danger in tie dying. If you forget to wear the gloves, just try a Mr. Clean magic eraser, and that should do the trick if you rub it on your hands. It doesn't completely get rid of it, but if you have it on your arms it will completely come off with it. I know from personal experience... i tried soap, nail polish remover, 409, Oxi clean, magic erasers, and comet, but erasers worked the best.

Here are the real dangers!

Oh sure, it starts off innocent enough...

Sure, first a tie dye t-shirt. Then maybe a couple of "pulls" off a "rainbow tube sock."

And sure, it might be fun. Listen to some rock and roll records, maybe even wear a little India skirt. 'Cause, hey, it's cool, right?

Next you find yourself travellin' around in a VW bus with a one-eyed dog, just driftin' town to town, trading love beads for STDs.

And that's just no way to live. Why do you think they call it DIE, man?

So, take my-y'know-advice, man. Stay away from that tie dye.

Depending on what color you are changing to. If you are doing a drastic change (I.e. dark brown or black to blonde or other way around) you can damage your chair pretty bad if not taken care of properly. However if you are to do small changes in tones your hair likely won't be damaged too bad. If you already have brittle hair dying it is probably not the best idea. But doing small changes will make your hair look healthier. Some hair dyes include ammonia which helps take out color but you will want to be careful as that will damage your hair more. If doing it yourself you'll want to stay away from box dyes as they aren't very good.
