I had this problem repaired today on my 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. The signs I had were:
1. Jeep was running fine, Parked it in the garage.
2. The next morning it would crank fine but would not start at all.
- As my fuel was low at the time I assumed I was out of fuel but after filling it that proved not to be the problem.
- In the years I have had the jeep it often takes two attempts to start the vehicle. That symptom seemed to come and go and I cannot directly attribute that to the Crank sensor problem but, it may be of use as background information.
Crank no start.
One symptom of a bad crank shaft sensor is the car having trouble starting. The car stalling and backfiring are other symptoms of a bad crank shaft sensor.
How can you tell if a crank sensor has gone bad on a 1994 Nissan altima
A bad crankshaft sensor on a 2.3 Ford may cause the car to not start. A bad crankshaft sensor can crank, just not start.
bad crank sensor
LOL, some dont have crank sensors my friend! if you dont have a crank sensor by your oil pan then you have a bad distributor sensor!
Lock up, No but a bad crank sensor will prevent the engine from starting.
if the crank sensor is bad it does not tell the computer that the crank is turning it will not fire up the engine.
The engine won't run.
No.
No
Symptoms of a bad crank sensor is hard starting, no starting or rough idle. If you're able to start the engine, and it runs for a few minutes or seconds and then dies out, most likely it's a bad crank position sensor. Also, there may be no spark in some of the spark plugs.
