They both belong to the Division Angiospermae (flowering plants). They both have pretty much the same floral parts (as well as seed characterisitics), althrough there are noticable differences between them - which distingish them from each other.

They both show or exhibit:

  • Flowers (with definite floral parts which have specific functions in sexual reproduction) are the primary reproductive organs.
  • Seed production (sexual) is the primary method of reproduction, and embryo's are produced in closed carpels
  • True roots, stems and leaves
  • Advanced vascular systems

In both cases, the roots are positvely geotrophic and the shoots are phototrophic. Water, air and temperature is also required in both cases.
