if this is for a (type1) beetle, then it means you have a 1300 LSD (ae) registered between August & December 1955 (980123)
The manufacturer recommends a synthetic 5W30 or 5W40meeting VW Spec 505.01 for a 2007 VW Passat 2.0.

go to the spare shop and ask for a spec sheet of your car . and it should be under the gap clearance section of the spec sheet
Your going to have to double check with your owners manual or dealer. It will be a 5w40 synthetic, but I don't know if it needs to meet a certain VW Oil Spec.
