There are many steps that you need to do when you're helping someone with a head injury. # Make sure that they have a hard collar or something like that to keep the head supported until the staff are able to determine that the neck is not fractured in any way. # If the patient is conscious, then ask the patient on how this may have happened. # Get an x-ray or CT scan to clear the neck of the person # Make sure that you check on the patient quite frequently to make sure that they are not unconscious if they arrived conscious. # If really unstable, then send them to the ICU for observations. Those are just some of the more common steps.
