What are the steps to unlock the Anti-theft system on a stock 2001 Mitsubishi Montero radio to make the CD player work I have the code and I have tryed the steps in the manual but it doesn't work?

With most common "radio codes" systems the code input phase gets locked out if an improper code is attempted (iirc after the 3rd failure). You must then wait at least 1 hour with the radio powered up (IE ignition on in acc and radio on for example) before attempting code again. Note that the power must not be turned off and on or lockout timer starts again!
