I had the same symptoms with my 90 non-turbo "Z". It did end up being a bad fuel injector. While it was being fixed and the had the injectors exposed, I had all of them changed so I wouldn't have to pay the labor if this happened again.
A car that hesitates or stumbles when accelerating can have dozens of different problems. Have a knowledgeable person look at it or post a question detailing all symptoms, trouble codes etc.
If you have a bad injector, chances are that you will also have a dead cylinder. Auto zone can check that for free if your engine light is on!Good luck!
Rough idle, low injector pressure Sputtering stalling. lack of power
A miss, black smoke and a strong gas smell. Also, bad acceleration, rough idling, and stalling.
1.rough idle 2.hesitation when accelerating 3.wrong fuel/air mixture 4. high fuel compsumption
one of the causes of all three symptoms is a bad fuel injector
Engine hard to start, rough idle, fouled plugs, fuel in oil, poor gas mileage
Poor throttle response and lack of low-end power(less than ussual) are the most common symptoms, and in worst cases, a high or wavering idle. The engine may also run hotter than ussual. It is most easily taken care of with a bottle of fuel injector cleaner in the fuel tank. Generally, modern unleaded fuel and air filters are highly efficient, and these symptoms are more likely to be a failed/failing fuel injector or simply an unserviceable air/fuel filter.
you push on the gas and it wont go or runs rough or dies when accelerating /// a pluged fuel filter will also cause thes symptoms as well
There are a few ways you can tell if you have a bad fuel pump. These are is the engine sputters at high speeds, vehicle loses power while accelerating, or the engine will not start.
It is important to know the problematic symptoms of a car part. With a fuel pump, problem signs are trouble with accelerating, shuddering, and lurching while driving.
Fuel pressure pump, gets fuel to fuel injector pump, which pump do you want to check and symptoms?
