Hard to start and stalling. Have someone listen at the fuel filler with the cap off. Turn on the ignition but do not start the engine. You should hear the pump run for a few seconds. If you do not, check the fuse and fuel pump relay. If they are good then the pump is defective. The pump can still be weak even if you hear it run. The only sure way to know if it is good is to run a fuel pressure test. Remember to change the fuel filter if you suspect a problem as the filter may just be partially clogged.
first check to see if your getting spark, or fuel
I think that one just has to sit for an hour for the fuel pump to start working again, that is assumming, of course, you don't trip it again....
you have to drop the muffler and the gas tank
The fuel pump for any camaro with Fuel Injection is and will always be in the fuel tank. very few carbed vehicles have a fuel pump in the tank, most have the pump bolted on to the passenger side of the engine block.
IT IS LOCATED UNDERNEATH DRIVERS SIDE OF THE CAR BEFORE THE REAR TIRE.THE LINES SNAP ON AND OFF OF THE FUEL FILTER.
The fuel pump relay of a 1983 Chevy Camaro can be found inside the relay fuse block. It provides power to the fuel pump.
