The definition of what is a tribe is important. Generally it would be assumed to mean a group of people who recognise a single person or group of people as their leadership, and who are relatively homogenous in culture and who identify strongly with that culture.
A common misconception is that all who speak the same language belong to one tribe. This is not the case, especially with those languages that have risen to regional prominence like Arabic, Swahili or Zulu.
