Most all timing marks are located on the harmonic balancer. A timing tab is located on the sheet metal that overhangs the balancer. Harmonic balancer is the lowest round device on an engine that has the belts running around it.

Use a spirit level (or even a ruler) and rest it on top of the timing gears. I think you know what to do next.
