first of all, marriage to a lot of teenagers has the sameseriousness as going steady did to my generation. now the reason so many teen marriages fail are that they are too young to take this life altering step. they are not ready financilly or mature enough. they have no concept of obligation to paying bills over going to the movies.most of the time they drop out of school to earn money at a low paying job that they consider beneath them.and do not qualify for a better job.I also know that some teen marriages work but that is the exceptionthat proves the rule. after a while when all their friends go off to college they find themselves all alone with only each other for company do they start to realize that maybe they should have not married in the first place. that they have two choices : they can tough it out or divorce . they pick the easiest way
Marriages fail because of misunderstanding of what it really means. First of all the teenagers should understand infatuation and be able to differentiate it when choosing a life partner. A clear understanding inculcated of the needs in married life by their mentors or proper guidance by parents helps a lot. Adolesence classes in the teen age can help a lot. Flexibility and understanding each other is very important ,because marriage is all about understanding each other and adjusting in life. Late marriages seldom break as the maturity level of thinking is better than the younger ones who are more prone to breakups. If we don't understand the long term commitment associated with marriage ,failures do happen. In countries with traditional background like India failed marriages were less in earlier years ,the sudden spurt in westernisation is also a cause as expectations are high an working atmosphere has become stressful for the younger generation mainly those who have to work at odd hours.
