Kenting:

Kenting is a great and beautiful place to visit! There are many wonderful beaches in Kenting that you can go down to and enjoy. Many of these beaches include water activities in which you can enjoy some inflatable intertubes or banana boats. This larger area includes the various townships and also the national park. Go down there and see all the fun things you can do!

Taipei 101

This was the tallest building in the world (Now that honor is held by Burj Khalifa in Dubai). The building has 101 floors (as evidenced by the name) and 5 underground floors also. The skyscraper includes floors designated for shopping, restaurants, clubs and also office buildings.

Sun Moon Lake

This name may seem strange, but that's just because it is translated directly from the Chinese of 日月潭 (Ri4 yue4 tan2). The Sun Moon Lake is a beautiful place to visit especially given that the landscape (as many of the landscapes are in Taiwan) is absolutely breathtaking and it is also the largest body of water in Taiwan. (It covers nearly half of nantou county). And if you're looking for a place to stay, the Lalu Hotel is a famous hotel both for its beauty and also location. There are many forms of travel including by car, boat or even air tram. (I perfer the tram)

FengJia Night Market

If you go to Taiwan, you definitely need to go to at least one Night Market. Fengjia Night Market is one of the most popular ones. Located in Taichung, it is claimed to be the largest night market in Taiwan. Going to Night Markets means playing, eating and shopping to your heart's delight so be sure to bring your coin purse and appetite with you!

Cingjing Farm

Sheep and rolling hills. What more can you ask for? This is a great place to go if you have small children. There is a nice little trail to hike on (Just don't go when it's too sweltering hot or else you'll be walking on a long stretch of road with not much shade...and that's kind of a mood killer), there are shows to keep the children (and adults) entertained, did I also mention that there are a lot of cute, friendly sheep to stroll next to you? There are also a lot of great places nearby where you can go for a picnic or look at tealeaves or go shopping on a charming little street. Yep. The possibilities are endless.

Bagua Shan

This niffty little spot includes the wonderful, great Buddha statue which overlooks the charming little city of Changhua. You are also able to walk in the statue and look through it's eyes! It's absolutely beautiful when it is lighted up at night time! Since you're in Changhua be sure to try their speciality which is Ba Wan (which translates to something along the lines of meat rounds. They are gelatous skin wrapped around minced meat and steamed then topped with some special sauce. Absolutely delicious!) Also, try to mao shu mian (Cat Rat Noddles-Don't worry there are neither cat nor rat in the noodles, but they sure are tasty)

Dream Mall

So, being in Taiwan basically means you have to bring an empty suitcase just because you'll be doing so much shopping there. So a tourist list would not be complete without multiple shopping malls! I love the Dream Mall. It is situated in Kaoshiung (The second largest city in Taiwan) and it is beautiful and is the largest shopping mall in Taiwan. There is shopping, food, a gym and an amusment park on the roof. What more could you ask for?

Presidential Office Building

Be sure to take a tour of the Presidential Office Building and learn about Taiwan's rich and interesting history even though Taiwan is only 100 years young. It was originally built to serve the governor-general of Taiwan during the Japanese colonial era. It is also located near the National Taiwan Museumwhich is a must see!

Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall

Located in Taipei, this is a must see location. You get giant buildings and beautiful ladscaped views. And also another vehicle into the history of Taiwan

There are also many things you should do in Taiwan (no specific buildings here). You should go karaoking. I know a lot of people have reservations about KTVs but the good thing about Karaoke stores in Taiwan are that they are single rooms so the only people who will be hearing your beautiful singing voice (or at least assumed angelic noises) will be you and your closest friends. It's loud and ramboncious. Great fun!

Also, be sure to eat eat eat. It's not a trip to Taiwan until you gain at least 10 pounds. I suggest going to the roadside stalls (especially the ones in the night markets. Did I mention that I love night markets?). Be sure to go for the strange looking foods. Be brave and try something new. You'll be glad you did after the first bite!

Ride the High Speed Railroad, it is the best way to get from one side of Taiwan to the other. (And you need to do that to fully experience all that Taiwan has to offer!)

Be sure to walk around and just enjoy Taiwan's essence and also its chain stores like 7-11, Watsons, Mos Burgers and more.
