The President of the U.S. has the power to appoint judges, ambassadors or any other high ranking government officials. He also has the power to veto any legislation, call congress into special session, grant pardons, issue proclamations and administer the law. This all happens because he is the head of the executive branch and also serves as commander in chief of the armed forces.
