The advantage a solar powered car would have over any internal combustion or alternatively powered car is that the fuel would come directly from the sun and would be almost entirely free. There are costs associated with the actual vehicle, batteries, PV Cells and such but the actual fuel is free. Presently there are only a few experimental "cars" that are completly solar powered. They are not yet "cars" as comparable to the present state of automobiles science as they have no radios, air bags, air-conditioning or any of the other things that make up a car. They are mostly just four wheels, electric motors, batteries, steering and not much more. Alternatively an electric car, with batteries that are recharged by wind or solar are the best use of solar energy presently. Remember that solar energy is what causes winds so wind mill energy is really just another form of solar energy.
