Crueltyand violence. since the topic is limited only to "Christianity", I will contain my answer only to The Bible. See related link, "Cruelty and Violence in the Bible" on left The god and gods invented by man, including when he looks in the mirror and effectively says to himself 'behold your god' are indeed cruel. Just look at the capricious and vindictive actions of the Greek and Roman myths. The wrath of God would be those judgments in the Tribulation, such as the vial and bowl judgments. The Noahic flood would be the wrath of God, as would the burning of Sodom and Gomorrah. Those who are judged by God deserved it and they "had it coming", for they were reprobates and beyond salvation.
God is the Only One who can determine who can be saved and who cannot, and as such, we as humans, regardless of reason, should not take lives, unless explicitly told to, such as in the case of capital punishment.
