Yes there is such a thing as professional Roller skating. I my self do it and if you don't want to hurt your self by doing jumps there is dance which is were you just skate around the floor doing foot work, or you can do show skate and that is were you do tiny jumps and lots of spins and foot work so yes there is professional roller skating because lots of us go to competitions. :)

yes, it was located in the wing where the movie theater used to be...also once upon a time where the 2nd arcade (park place) was located....there was a half wall along the front and you walked in down the left side...loved it there...large wood floor great music life was good!
If you were roller-skating you don't need friction because it slows you down. Well you want friction between the wheels and the floor (so you do not slip sideways) but not between the wheel and the axel (thats why you have ball bearings there to reduce rolling friction). If you are ice skating you do not want friction between the blade of your skates and the ice.
They are "Disc Balls". Made of mirrors and hung from above the dance floor they had a small motor that turns the ball. Spot Lights are pointed at the ball and bounce off to the floor and walls around the dance floor. Amazon sell them - There are more sophisticated types that have coloured lights on a small gantry around the ball which move through the vertical and horizontal giving greater changes to the light effect.
