Mormons (members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints) don't really have any specific naming customs and as there are over 15 million Mormons living all over the globe, names cross many diverse cultural backgrounds. Mormon naming trends have generally followed national and international baby name trends. Many Mormon families like to give their children names that have meaning, while others just choose a name that they think sounds cute. For boys, traditional Biblical names are popular (John, Joseph, Adam, Timothy, Luke, Matthew etc), as well as names from family history (ie the name of a great grandparent, etc). More adventurous Mormon parents might choose a Book of Mormon name (Ammon, Alma, Nephi, Helaman, Jarom, Manti) or the name of a well known Church figure (Orson, Heber, Hyrum, Brigham, Benson, Hinkley, McKay). Especially in the Mormon culture of the western United States and Utah, Mormons have been stereotyped for giving their kids strange made-up names, or unusual spellings of more common names. These names are most often given to girls (McKayzie, Breklynn, Paezlei, etc) but I have seen quite a few "Utah" names given to boys (Kaehler, Axselson, Trevyn, Kael, etc). In recent years, common boys names among Mormons have also been common throughout the US (Mason, Ethan, Jackson, Noah, Liam, Aiden, etc)Here is a funny video full of real Utah Mormon boys names: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GXPrtJKPmB0
*The names in this answer are 100% real names of Mormon boys I know in Utah.
