  • When Management or a Supervisor state regular threats of dismissal without cause.
  • Anyone in Management or Supervisor including any other employee publicly humiliating an employee; calling them useless; unfit for their position, etc., in front of other Management members or employees.
  • The work the victim does is given credit to someone else. This also includes stealing someone else's work and taking credit for it.
  • Management or Supervisors that have their 'favorites' and leave out one or more other employees who are good at their job and the 'favorites' get the promotions; bonus' and raises.
  • Denying an employee of training opportunities in the company.
  • When Supervisors work close to Management and lie about the character of a certain employee or employees. The employee is not aware of it or, in some cases is informed, but they are not given the chance to defend themselves. Good Management would look into the complaint further, but some companies either do not care; they want these types of bullying tactics or they feel they are too busy to get involved. Character Assassination is cruel because the employee it is aimed at cannot defend themselves and Management is taking the word of one or more people in higher positions. It is called a 'smear campaign.'
  • Anyone in the company that creates malicious rumors regarding one or more employees when it is not the truth.
  • Management and Supervisors may create social ostracism against an employee. In other words ignore the employee; breaking the link of communication and dividing that employee from getting any important information they may need to do their job well and are snubbed and ostracized.
  • Sexual harassment. This also includes women in positions sexually harassing a male employee (it does happen) or a male sexually harassing a female and often can threaten dismissal if the employee does not cooperate.
