What art did the Italians bring to the United States?

The Italians who immigrated to the United States of America brought with them the art of their memories. In many places throughout Italy, these former residents had been in daily contact with art. The contact might have been sculptures. Or it might have been paintings by famous masters. Or it might have been by way of buildings, from archaeological ruins to ancient villas to 19th and 20th century architecture.

Additionally, many Italian immigrants emigrated with the knowledge that they were employable elsewhere. They had some kind of skill that they felt would serve them in good stead in the New World. Sometimes these skills were in the realm of arts and crafts.
