A number of years ago, Morningstar Farms, the biggest maker of meat-substitutes found in most grocery stores, bought Loma Linda Foods & Worthington Foods, the brands behind both Nuteena and Numete. Several years later Kellogg's purchased Morningstar Farms, who after evaluating sales data and cost, decided to discontinue these two (and several other popular) meat-substitutes. There are some that said it was because they contained peanuts and they were afraid of hurting those who had Allergies to them, but I don't believe that is true because Kelloggs produces many products with peanuts in them. There have been several times over the past few years where individuals (including myself) and groups have tried to purchase the "recipes" from Kellogg's, but they refuse stating that "in this competitive market they feel it would not be in their best interest to release the recipes." There are a few Nuteena and Numete "replacements" on the market, including a couple by Cedar Lake, but they really haven't perfected it yet. They're O.K. and I would suggest you try them yourself to see what you think. Good Luck.
