No matter what you've been told, Circumcision DOES have benefits:

1. Some religions, like Islam and Judaism, perform circumcision as a religious rite. It's NOT required at birth in Islam - many boys have it done at 13 - but Judaism performs circumcision at 8 days old.

2. Hygiene: It's easier to wash and keep clean - foreskins "trap" dirt and odors and it's more difficult to be 100% sure you're clean.

3. Health and Safety Measure: Circumcision is usually performed for health reasons and as a prevention from foreskin problems - foreskins can break, rip, tear, and become "stuck" to the penis. BOTH penises can have problems, but it's more difficult when you're NOT circumcised.

4. Aesthetics: Some foreskins are HIDEOUS and can even hang - it's called an "overhang" - and some people have it "snipped off" with surgical scissors or simply remove the whole foreskin.

Not ALL people agree with this, saying the natural penis is better for sex, and the natural penis should stay the way it is.

The American Academy of Pediatrics has advised that the benefits of circumcision are not significant enough to recommed it as a routine procedure?

Well they're right. There are no reasons except forimediate medical problems and religious ones to perform circumcisions. I live in Sweden and here in Europe it's only done for those reasons. I've heard people say it's hard to clean but that is not true. Not harder then for us women. The foreskin is there for a reason which is to protect. It's not done as a routine anywhere in this world.
