What bible verse tells us god protects us from Satan?

There are actually instances where it's determined that a person should be "handed over to Satan" for disciplinary action:

"It is actually reported that there is sexual immoralityamong you, and of a kind that does not occur even among pagans: A man has his father's wife. And you are proud! Shouldn't you rather have been filled with grief and have put out of your fellowship the man who did this?

"...I have already passed Judgment on the one who did this... When you are assembled in the name of our Lord Jesus... and the Power of our Lord Jesus is present, HAND THIS MAN OVER TO SATAN, so that the sinful nature may be destroyed and his spirit saved on the Day of the Lord." (I Cor.5:1-5 NIV)

The Lord's protection is for those who are faithful, subject and obedient to Him.

And those whom He has simply bestowed His Grace.

"Finally, brothers, pray for us that the message of the Lord may spread rapidly and be honored, just as it was with you. And pray that we may be delivered from wicked and evil men, for not everyone has faith. But the Lord is faithful, and He will strengthen and protect you from the evil one." (II Thess.3:1-3 NIV)
