The VIN number is not located on the engine, it is as a rule located on the front of the bike frame. The engine has the engine number, which is different from the frame or VIN number. Look for it on the top front of the frame, just below or to the rear of where the handlebars column is placed in the frame.
Most older bikes have the VIN located on the neck of the frame right behind the front number plate. Newer bikes have them on the right side of the frame rear the radiator with a sticker placed by the dealer, if this bike has this sticker it may also be stamped into the neck of the frame, manufacturers will do this incase the sticker is missing the frame will still have a VIN.
