Having been through a roller coaster experience on different Birth Control pills myself, I'm pretty sure the answer to your question can't be answered so simply. Your health care practitioner would want to look at your previous experiences with various brands and the hormones in those to make an educated decision about what to try next. That being said, I'm on Loestrin 24 Fe and absolutely love it. I did experience some nervousness in the first month or so of taking it, but that was my only real complaint, besides breast tenderness which is nearly impossible to avoid. Of course, every experience is different. If you know certain pills made you a disaster, your dr. or midwife will likely prescribe you something much different (like if a low dose didn't work for you, they might prescribe a higher dose, more traditional pill) or if you've tried both low dose AND regular pills they might prescribe a progestin-only mini-pill (but these have more cons than combination pills). Honestly, there's no right answer to this question. It's just a try-and-see sort of thing. A good doctor will understand and work with you to find the "right" one. If you've exhausted hormonal methods and have a child, try the copper IUD, ParaGuard. It's hormone free and good for 5 years. Good luck!
