A fist is formed when a person scrunches his/her hand together, bending his/her fingers as tightly as possible against the palm. When some people make a fist, some people like to tuck the thumb under the other four fingers. Others leave the thumb on the outside.

To make a fist, you primarily use your fingers and thumb, as well as wrist muscles to provide stability and strength to the grip. The fingers curl inwards to meet the base of the thumb, which wraps around the fingers to form the fist. Additionally, forearm muscles engage to support the movement.
