The design of three branches of government, the executive, legislative, and judicial, is for no branch to be dominant. If each branch can be restrained by the other two branches, than no single branch will exercise tyrannical power. That is the point. A dominant branch is exactly what this system is intended to prevent.
That would be the Legislative branch!
It is not a branch, but the theory that if power is divided between 3 branches of government that each will check the other and no one branch will get too powerful.
The system of Checks and Balances in your government( most likely the US) is a system of government in which the three branched legislative executive and judicial check on each other to prevent one branch from getting too powerful.
The judicial branch is not the most powerful, all branches are the same.No branch is powerful than the other
No branch is designed to be the weakest in power, otherwise the whole idea behind separate branches of government would fail. There are three branches of government that have checks and balances on each other, in order to ensure that no one branch is more powerful than the other.
yes they do....for example the executive branch can check the other two..and i can check out your mom....See how it works
It keeps any branch form becoming too powerful. Each branch of government limits the power of the other branches.
the founders and framers of the constitution expected the government to be mainly led by congress. they were fearful of having too strong of an executive branch abusing its powers, so they gave the legislators more authority to keep this from happening. the constitution displays the numerous abilities of the House and Senate to keep the other branches in check. hope this helps!
all three branches are powerful but the executive branch has the most power
checks and balances means that no one of the three branches can be stronger or more powerful then each other. example: the president can't pass a law without the other branches saying yes.
It helps the United States government's individual branches from having one branch more powerful than the other branch, making for a biased government. The system of checks and balances keeps the government's branches from becoming biased or one branch completely taking over the other two.
Checks and Balances. This is where each branch of government is put in place and has an equal amount of powers so that no one branch becomes to powerful.
No Branch was more powerful each branch could stop the other one
