there are three reasons that the us joined the fight on the western front. the first is the sinking of the louisatania by German u boats killing a few hundred innocent American lives. second is the zefferman telegram which was a telegram sent from Germany to Mexico stating that if Mexico helps Germany and austria in the great war, and win, than they will help get Mexico back California, Texas, and New Mexico. lastly the us did not like the Russians who was aiding the entente(Britain and France).
