Southern Florida has some of the highest butterfly diversity in the country. A quick Google search for butterflies of Florida will turn up checklists with all the species. A few unique ones that aren't found anywhere in the US except south Florida that you might see in Miami are the Atala, the Fulvous Hairstreak, the Ruddy Daggerwing, the Malachite, and the Polydamas Swallowtail.
actually the white peacock butterfly lives in the everglades. the one thing that is odd about them is that they are white,orange, and black...just not white. some people say that they are colorful since the word "peacock" is in there name but they happen to be kinda blah...not much color going on.
