Not certain, but I THINK your rifle may be a Colt Colteer semi automatic, made for Montgomery Wards under their Western Field label. Some of the cross reference data is spotty. Google images for Colteer, and see if it is similar to your rifle.
Should be the Mossberg 346 - Produced for Western Field until 1971. 24 inch barrel, holds Shorts, Longs, and Long Rifles.

Would need the model number. S-L-LR simply pertains to how the rifle is chambered. There is a model number on that gun somewhere.
Your rifle was made for Wards by Mossberg, and is their Model 26B/ 26C. They were made between 1938-1941.
