But don't fret - If you need to install software, using another computer, copy the ENTIRE contents of the CD onto a thumb drive (USB memory stick), one preferably 2GB or larger. Then insert the thumb drive on your net book, and install the software from there. (there are of course limitations to this due to the size of the thumb drive)
Now... if you actually want to play a DVD movie.. well.... that's why they invented DVD players... :-)
If the notebook has a USB 2.0 port then yes, but some external DVD drives need some other connection, maybe Bluetooth to connect to your notebook.
Most notebook PCs have a permanently built in CD-ROM or DVD drive. If your PC lacks this component it is possible to use certain software to emulate having a drive.

Yes. Most of the notebook has inbuilt DVD RW drive.
You can use a flash drive as installation media (google how to make bootable flash drive) or you can use external CD/DVD drive.
About every single notebook has them i have never known a notebook which doesnt
Computers can only play Blu-Ray discs if their optical drive is a Bluray drive rather than a DVD.
A notebook has more memory and a bigger processor. It also has a larger screen then a netbook and a DVD or a blu ray drive. If you only need very basic things such as writing emails and connecting to the internet then a netbook is for you. If you need to use a lot of software and use discs then you need a laptop.
Most modern PC's will play DVD movies. However, you need to make sure your PC has a DVD drive. Some older or very low-end PC's have only a CD player, which will not play DVD's. Also, some laptop and notebook PC's save size and weight by omitting to have a built-in DVD drive. In this case you can plug an external DVD drive into a USB port.
A CD drive cannot use a DVD. They are different systems.
yes u can do so
A CD ROM drive cannot read a DVD. So it is not possible to use a CD ROM as a DVD ROM. A DVD ROM drive can work with a CD though.
