Unhealthy food doesn't supply the body with the necessary vitamins and minerals that it needs to grow and repair itself. Highly processed foods are also very high in harmful toxins, chemicals and additives which can have very negative effects on the body - such as sluggishness, Allergies, low immunity, fatigue etc. Also, unhealthy foods tend to be very high in sugars, salts, fats and colorings and artificial flavors.
There are only two factors here. Over-eating and some people may be allergic to certain foods. Other than that if one eats in moderation they can eat almost anything on the market (but stay away from foods with too many chemicals and dyes in them.)
If by "bad food" we are referring to food that is processed and refined, the problem is twofold.
1. Food that has been refined is lacking in fiber.
Fiber helps create a soft stool and promotes easy elimination.
A diet lacking in fiber can lead to constipation and hemorrhoids.
2. Refined, processed foods have been stripped of their nutritional value.
Most of the disease plaguing America today, including heart disease, stroke, cancer and Diabetes are diet related and could be avoided by eating a natural whole foods diet.
