No/low coolant, bad thermostat, dirty/plugged radiator (inside and/or outside of it), air pocket in coolant, electric fan relay, temp switch for fans, bad fans.
Broken water pump.
185-220 deg F
When changing out the spark plugs of a car, maintaining the gap is important to help the car run correctly. For a 1993 Dodge Intrepid the spark plug gap is 0.04 millimeters.
Check the keyswitch.
Low coolant? Cooling fan not working? Water pump not circulating coolant? Radiator plugged or restricted? Thermostat not opening? Coolong system air bound?
check your coolant see if its low
yes this will cause engine to run hot
The labor for a 2002 dodge intrepid can be anywhere from $800 to $950, and a blown head gasket means a new engine. So to get and engine from a salvage yard can run anywhere from $1200 to $2500
Radiator plugged, radiator fans inoperative, thermostat failed, water pump failed, headgasket failure, etc.
There is a technical service bulletin that Dodge has put out addressing that problem. It is due to the relay and a modification that are required.
my car 1997 dodge intrepid runs good for a couple of hours shuts down for 20 minutes backfires and runs again like nothing happen
Hi Same problem with mine, after replacing water pump, thermostat I still had a problem. It turned out that my cooling fan was not working. When the motor was hot the fan didn't run, you should check yours. The AC fan will run when it is turned on so check that too.
