Spark plug. Plug wire, or coil
It depends on the reason that cylinder is misfiring. It could cause serious damage to the catalytic converter.
It could, depending on the cause of the misfire.
There are several things that can cause a clanging noise on your 2004 Toyota. A loose exhaust pipe is the most common cause.
Possibly the sway bar bushings?
There are a number of reasons why a 2001 Toyota Corolla 1.4 GS engine would misfire. Coils are one common cause. Another common cause is the fuel delivery system.
If the engine is running good except for low power, low cylinder compression could be the problem. A computer test may show and possible engine codes as well, giving a starting point for troubleshooting.
sounds like your engine needs a valve job worn piston rings would also cause low compression ,but not cause the backfireing
check for tune-up. chack mass air flow meter.
you neede to have the pcm scanned it will tell you which cylinder is misfiring. most prob. cause is the coil pack on that cylinder.
Bad wire, crack in the power pack by number 1 cylinder, bad sparkplug, oil down in the spark plug tube
misfiring probably caused by a damaged collector in distributor. if this mini cylindirical part damage engine misfires lose almost all power and while pressing throttle engine works very noisy like a gun...
You need to isolate the cause of the misfire. Could be plug, wire, fuel, injector, internal engine, etc...
