There are many different types of headache recognized by the International Headache Society. What is causing or triggering your headache is dependent upon which type of headache you suffer from. Many headaches are neurological such as Migraine and Cluster Headache (aka suicide headache). Many headache types are genetic. Others are not. Some headaches may be caused by other diseases or disorders. Some headaches can occur every day while others usually do not.
A trigger is different than a cause. The cause of Migraine is usually genetics. The triggers for Migraine include hormones, fluorescent lights, certain foods, msg, changes in sleep or eating habits, etc.
Some daily headache types include:
- New Daily Persistent Headache
- Medication Overuse Headache
- Cluster Headache
- Hormonal Migraine
- Chronic Migraine
- Tension Type Headache
Only a doctor can properly diagnose and treat your headache. For best results, consult a headache specialist in your area.

- You might need glasses. Have your eyes tested to make sure.
- You might not be drinking enough water each day.
- You may well have Allergies or intolerance to foods/drinks or non-foods that you are exposed to every day (this especially applies to foods and drinks). This is known as masked (hidden) allergy/intolerance. The allergens/triggers (if foods) are often additive type allergies to foods or drinks that you like. Any good book about food allergy/intolerance will enable you to test this out for yourself by means of a rotation diet or an elimination diet (or both if necessary). You can borrow a book or two from your local library if you are unable to buy them. There are many good ones. You might care to start with a couple of Dr Keith Scott-Mumby's books. Alternatively, make sure that whatever book you choose covers rotation diet, elimination diet

∙ 11y agoIf one has headaches every day for a few weeks, that will be called a chronicle headache. Often there is an underlying disease that causes these headaches. If so, treatment of these disease will stop the haedaches. If not there are preventive medicines one can use.
