engine misses could be bad plugs,incorrect ignition timing, cracked distributor cap, bad wires, vacuum leak, clogged fuel injector or filter, . engine backfires could be ignition timming, vacuum leak, EGR system not working, bad valves or valve springs.

Depending on the extent of the clog, it could cause the engine to lose power under a load or accelerating and in severe cases the engine may not run above an idle. I don't see it causing any one cylinder to missfire.

I'm gonna say no. PO300 (random missfire) would probaby be caused by ignition, fuel or mechanical failure.
