Several things could be the problem, the first thing i would check is to see if there is excessive oil build up on the starter. This could indicate an oil leak that is basically drowning the starter and causing it to overheat and fail. Also the starter solenoid could be failing and heating up. Lastly, check to see if there is a heat shield on the starter and make sure it is still solid and in place. Hope this helps, and good luck.
