The person is placed in the chamber and fed pressurized oxygen until there blood is oxygen rich and CO free. What POISONS people, is that without knowing it, they breathe in CO which displaces oxygen in the blood cells (which need to carry oxygen for you to live.) More and more oxygen is lost, being replaced by CO, and eventually you just pass out, go to sleep, and die. This is why CO detectors are SO IMPORTANT. CO can kill you and you would never know it.
